A social media addict gets invited to an influencer party, but things get bloody.
DOOMSCROLL was developed as my senior thesis project at UC Santa Cruz and stands as my most ambitious work to date. Over the course of three months, I took the project from concept to completion—spending the first month writing the script, casting the ensemble, and building a detailed shot list from scratch. Production followed over the next four weeks, during which I directed and led a team of 15+ cast and crew members. I edited and colored the film over the span of two days. Inspired by Bodies Bodies Bodies, I aimed to strike a darkly comedic tone, centering the story around a group of deliberately unlikable characters.
After an exhausting shift, Reese has to converse with her roommates' insufferable friend.
Post-Shift Agony was made for my Intro to Production class, under the challenge of creating a five-minute short in just three days. I spent the first day writing the script, focusing on fast-paced dialogue to build a clear character arc within a tight runtime. The following two days were dedicated to shooting and editing the piece from start to finish, where I managed everything from directing and camera operation to sound design and pacing—ensuring the final product was polished, cohesive, and emotionally resonant despite the tight turnaround.
